I have known Amanda personally for over 20 years. She had some REALLY rough times as a teen. Her mother was sweet but not very capable. Her stepfather was an ass. She had some real emotional issues while trying to figure out who she was and could become. For a while she was as angry as someone who lost most of all of her four limbs and had many surgical procedures might be. She has experienced hell and part of it came from devotees who took advantage of her. She reacted in ways that do not seem so strange given what she had experienced. The idea that people with disabilities become wise, gentle and good is just so much crap. I have not seen her in several years but I hear that she has really matured in a very positive way.
